"The WZ 550 is the PLA's best attempt yet at purchasing systems on the arms market and reverse engineering it into an excellent multipurpose carrier. The Dutch and Germans were the original designers of this lightly armored vehicle. It has a crew of three, maximum road speed of 115 km per hour and can be armed with a 40 mm Heckler & Koch grenade launcher or a 12.7 mm MG. It can also be fitted with a sensor pod that contains a thermal camera, day camera, and laser rangefinder on a mast that can be extended 1.5 m above the roof."
